De Anta states that the Canary Islands Government denies CC and PP: "The 3 million for housing will not be lost"

The mayoress of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, has denied "categorically" the accusations made in recent weeks by Coalición Canaria and Partido Popular regarding the blocking of the construction of 400 public housing units in Arrecife, stating that the Housing Councillor of the Canary Islands Government, Cristina Valido, confirmed this Tuesday in Parliament that "Arrecife will not be left out of the government plans and will be able to count on this investment for the construction of 400 social housing units."

"The item is already allocated, on April 10th the City Council approved the start of the file, we are waiting for the definitive transfer to take place and with the title of the definitive transfer, regardless of other procedures that we have to do, we can already tender the project," said Valido, who explained that, at that moment, with the deadlines for tendering the project, it will be known "what amount of those three million euros will be executed in the contracting and direction of the work and what amount will not have time to be executed and will be relocated to the housing needs that Lanzarote has."

In this way, the City Council points out that "Arrecife will have public housing in the Maneje area as planned" and that "the three million euros budgeted for the current year will not be lost, as was misinformed by various political formations."

Eva de Anta shows her "satisfaction" and regrets "the misinformation spread by CC and PP, who are committed to the worse, the better." "It is very sad that whoever rejected the file for not verifying that the ceded land was free of encumbrances, then sowed doubt in the citizens," said the mayoress in reference to her former government partner.

De Anta believes that "once again it is demonstrated that CC did not govern with PIL and PSOE", that "it only hindered and put obstacles to prevent the projects from going ahead." "The statements of the councillor show that the 400 social housing units in Lanzarote will be a reality after two decades without this type of construction," she concludes.
