The Government of the Canary Islands, through the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, headed by Migdalia Machín, is allocating nearly 900,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the "Benito Pérez Armas" House of Culture in the municipality of Yaiza, within the objectives of the Canary Islands Executive for the conservation of the historical heritage of the Canary Islands, and in this case, of the island of Lanzarote.
Specifically, the order signed by the Minister amounts to 897,128.10 euros as a direct subsidy for the benefit of the Yaiza City Council to finance the "Rehabilitation and conditioning project of the Benito Pérez Armas House of Culture", due to the state of deterioration in which it is currently located.
For the Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, "this action represents the materialization of the Government's objective and commitment to the protection of our heritage and the conservation of the island's most emblematic buildings, in this case, in the south of Lanzarote."
In this sense, the Minister points out that "the safeguarding of all those spaces where culture is developed and offered, while being a hotbed of creation and meeting place for artists, will always be a priority for this Ministry of Culture."
The subsidized activity must be carried out before December 31, 2024.
