Political parties of a municipal nature critical of the leadership of Nueva Canarias (NC) have signed this Thursday before a notary the protocol for the constitution of their new organization, the first step to formally constitute themselves once the Ministry of the Interior grants its approval.
As explained to EFE by one of the leaders of this critical sector, and mayor of Gáldar (Gran Canaria), Teodoro Sosa, this Friday they will send all the documentation to the Registry of Political Parties of the Interior Ministry, which will have to analyze all the documentation and verify that the name that has been wanted to give to this new political force -and that he has not wanted to reveal for the moment- does not already exist.
Sosa has assured that in this signing before a notary there was «a lot of enthusiasm» on the part of the eight signing formations, which represent nine municipalities on the island of Gran Canaria.
These are Bloque Nacionalista Rural (BNR), the formation led by Sosa himself; Roque Aguayro, to which the president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, belongs; Fórum Drago de Ingenio, which joined this Wednesday; Juntos por Guía; Compromiso por Firgas; Asociación de Barrios de Valsequillo; Unión Veguera de San Mateo, and Agrupación de Electores por Tejeda.
NC members will join soon
The mayor of Gáldar, also vice president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, has also pointed out that in the coming weeks councilors and members of Nueva Canarias groups in different municipalities such as Santa Lucía de Tirajana, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Arucas or Teror will be joining the project.
That is why Sosa has highlighted the enthusiasm that this political project has aroused, which in his opinion has shown that they are not «alone in this battle, that there are many local forces that have joined».
The signing of this protocol of constitution of the party includes the statutes of the future formation, which the Interior Ministry will now analyze to give its approval.
