The general secretary of the PSOE and deputy in Congress, María Dolores Corujo, has left the current president of the institution, Oswaldo Betancort, "exposed", accusing him of "deliberately lying to the public" about the bankruptcy situation of Insular de Aguas de Lanzarote (INALSA).

During the plenary session held this Thursday, Corujo displayed a judicial document confirming that the INALSA bankruptcy proceedings were closed during her term, thus dismantling Betancort's statements, who had assured in the last Insular Water Consortium that the public company was still in bankruptcy proceedings.

The socialist leader recalled that "the definitive closure of the procedure occurred during her presidency, ending an era of inherited mismanagement." Corujo pointed out that "Betancort is using this issue to generate confusion and divert attention from his own inability to manage the Insular Water Consortium, at a time when Lanzarote is suffering an unprecedented crisis in the water supply."

The PSOE of Lanzarote has denounced "the lack of rigor and the partisan use that Oswaldo Betancort makes of public institutions, resorting to lies to confuse citizens and divert attention from the real problems of the island."

“Instead of governing responsibly and seeking solutions to the serious problems of Lanzarote, the president of the Cabildo prefers to sow confusion and create false controversies. The PSOE will continue to defend transparency and truth against the lies and incompetence of this island government”, Corujo concluded.
