La Voz was not invited to the press conference offered by the representatives of Comisiones Obreras of Madrid at the airport of the Island, but contacted one of the speakers: Jorge Carrillo, secretary of the State Executive of the Air Sector. Carrillo explained that the objective of the delegation that came to Lanzarote was to gauge the opinion of the workers about the strike taking place in Guacimeta and to publicly communicate the Air Sector's rejection of the protest for considering it "weak and an adventure".
The reasons given are that supposedly no one is clear about the objectives of the strike and because "the protests that damage an economic sector as important as tourism in Lanzarote are falling apart". For Comisiones Madrid, this type of strike should be short and strong because otherwise they end up harming those who call them.
The Madrid delegation admitted that its public statement could harm the claims of the Strike Committee, but not the demands of the workers because in their opinion "the Committee has refused to consult the workers about the strike".
