Due to the loss of sand that Playa Grande has suffered in recent years, the General Directorate of Coasts has committed to developing a regeneration and maintenance project for this beach. This was one of the issues discussed at the meeting held last Monday by the Director of Coasts, José Fernández, and José Juan Cruz, first mayor of Tías.
In this same meeting, the General Directorate of Coasts has also committed to developing a project to condition a path along the coast, which will connect La Tiñosa with Puerto Calero, thus giving continuity to the promenade. The meeting also discussed the project to extend the Puerto Calero promenade along the Morro de los Jureles, which in the end, was replaced by another alternative, which will connect it with the Varadero and the Risco de la Tiñosa.
