The Local Committee of Coalición Canaria in Haría has asked the Cabildo of Lanzarote to "increase its effort" and its institutional support in the municipality in the face of "the neglect and posturing" of the northern government.
“Let's not fool ourselves, the little or much that is being done in Haría is not thanks to the mayor and his group, but thanks to the CC colleagues in the Cabildo who, when working for the well-being of our neighbors, are committed to inter-institutional collaboration, whoever governs in the City Council”, said the local secretary and municipal spokesperson for the nationalists, Víctor Robayna.
Thus, Robayna specifies that, throughout the last months, the north of the island has been able to enjoy cultural and sporting events, investments and cleaning improvements, “which bear the support and seal of the Cabildo of Lanzarote”.
Similarly, in the same collaborative line, the CC councilor emphasizes that the Government of the Canary Islands has been asked “to take into account the budget items that this municipality needs”.
“We were waiting to see what course the northern City Council would take with the new government group, and the only movement we have seen is produced by the so-called institutional inertia, it seems that the compass is not yet working, waiting for that navigation chart that is having a roadmap”, insists Robayna.
The secretary of CC in the northern island, emphasizes that at the gates of 2024 in which the Budget Adjustment Law will disappear, as a great resource that allowed the use of surpluses, there will be problems with large investments and there is a danger that the basic needs of the municipality will no longer be met.
“We must be aware that it is the investments of the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands that make it possible for municipalities such as Haría to take a step forward in sustainability, mobility or the environment, given the impossibility of own resources”, he points out.
Investments that during the previous island and regional mandate (both with PSOE Presidency) “never reached our municipality, neglecting vital issues such as the water problem in Lanzarote, the emergencies in the Mala Health Center, the dock and parking lots of Órzola, investments in the primary sector (cochineal plague in Mala), and fishermen from the North, Haría palm grove, etcetera”.
