Citizen Alternative has also taken a position on the general strike called for this Wednesday, November 14 and has announced that it supports this strike, due to "the course of events and the serious situation facing the island".
From AC 25-m they affirm that "collective mobilization is the instrument that citizens have to express their forceful rejection of the blatant precariousness in which we find ourselves." Therefore, they "invite" "the entire population to participate in the next mobilization that seeks to stop the regressive policies of the Popular Party." Policies that, in the opinion of the assembly party, "follow the European neoliberal guidelines that have strangled the Greek economy."
In a statement, Citizen Alternative warns that there are "latent risks" that "if they become effective, would increase the unfavorable situation we suffer." In this sense, they point out that citizens cannot allow "economic items for the Canary Islands to be reduced from Madrid in the next General Budgets"; "that health and educational services continue to be reduced, plunging us into total abandonment (such as the closure of essential services such as Pediatric Cardiology)"; or "that our social rights that have cost us so much effort to achieve are undermined."
In addition, it criticizes "that no measures are taken to reactivate the economy, focusing all efforts only on saving the banks, leaving aside thousands of evicted families"; and that "public companies are dismantled, infamously promoting their privatization (such as the strategy being carried out in Inalsa)."
