The youth of the Canarian Coalition have issued a statement to congratulate the medical professionals who work in Lanzarote and request recognition of their work. In particular, they have praised the work of the Director of the Health Area, Juan Manuel Sosa, for "his direct involvement in the most pressing problems of the sector", and for the promotion of new infrastructures and the hiring of healthcare personnel.
According to CC, waiting lists have decreased and the Health Area has addressed the deficiencies of the health system, derived from a population increase. "We have to highlight the expansion works of the General Hospital (...), the Health Centers of Santa Coloma and Tías have been expedited, and we know that work is being done on the projects of La Graciosa and Playa Blanca, as well as on the new facilities in Puerto del Carmen", they explained.
But it hasn't all been congratulations. The youth of CC have also requested that the construction of the Emergency area of the Hospital be accelerated. "We know they are working, but it would be good to put in the maximum effort so that it takes as little time as possible, due to the great need we have on the Island", they insisted.
