The spokesperson for the Canarian Coalition in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, has described as "lamentable" and "authentic political posturing what the mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, have tried to sell as the second working table of the Dynamization Plan for Innovation and Quality of the Complementary Offer of Puerto del Carmen".
"It turns out that they summon the businessmen to participate in a working table, but the reality is that we find a presentation and political sale of a president who abandoned us in March 2020," said annoyed the spokesperson for CC, who attended that meeting as a businessman.
"In this way, and far from what was stated in the press release sent on July 8, after the celebration of a political act in every way, there was no debate between the authorities and the attending businessmen," he questions.
"A presentation of proposals by the president and the mayor and a round of questions and answers is not a working table. The mayor of Tías is confusing the terms and the president intends to become the savior of the businessmen, boasting of her aid to the sector, which has not arrived, of her commitments to the municipality, which have not materialized, and, in addition, she has had the nerve to announce that huge amounts of money are going to arrive to digitize our companies. I don't know who they are trying to deceive," says the spokesperson for CC.
Likewise, he asks why real working tables have not been held before the elaboration of the aforementioned Dynamization Plan and questions its validity, stating that it is based on a survey carried out on 222 people between tourists, residents, and businessmen and that it depends on external financing.
"We have an incompetent mayor who convened a working table that turned out to be an act of presentation and political sale and a president who came to Tías to sit in front of the businessmen to say how well the central government, the Canary Islands, the government of Tías and, of course, herself have done, while they have done absolutely nothing to alleviate the terrible economic effects of Covid-19 in the main tourist center of the island," asserts Amado Vizcaíno.
