The Senator of the Canarian Coalition, Narvay Quintero, has presented this Wednesday in the registry of the Upper House several parliamentary initiatives, in which he requests that the Ministry of the Interior pronounce on the protocol of action of the agents of the Civil Guard during the eviction of Aminatou Haidar from the Lanzarote airport. Quintero raised these questions as a result of the incidents recorded in Guacimeta last Monday.
The CC senator has requested explanations about the expulsion of journalists covering the information on the eviction of the Saharawi activist. Thus, he has asked the Spanish Government to open an internal investigation into the attack on a television cameraman, whose images have been disseminated through different communication channels.
The initiatives presented by Narvay Quintero are in addition to those registered this Tuesday in the Congress of Deputies by the CC deputy, José Luis Perestelo. In them, he demands the "urgent" appearance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, to explain the steps his department is taking to facilitate the return of Aminatou Haidar to El Aaiún.
The Canarian Coalition has also transferred this case to the European Parliament, through the MEPs of CiU and PNV, so that the European Commission can pronounce on the role of the Kingdom of Morocco in the "repression of Saharawi activists pro human rights".
