The Local Committee of the Canarian Coalition in Yaiza has demanded that the Government of the Canary Islands maintain the morning and afternoon hours in the new health center in the southern town, "in order to serve the residents as was done in the old facilities."
It should be remembered that, given the rebound in Covid cases, the Ministry of Health agreed last week to close the Haría health center and reduce hours in four others "to guarantee safety", including the new Yaiza office, located in Uga, which will only open its doors between 08:00 and 15:00. A measure with which the local secretary of CC, Mateo Ramón de la Cruz, considers that residents are left "totally abandoned and neglected in the afternoon".
“We are aware that Covid-19 is making us live through complicated situations and that there are many health professionals who are dedicated to tracking cases, but it is time to give answers and, above all, solutions, not to leave us abandoned,” says De la Cruz.
That is why "after consulting with many of those affected and collecting their discomfort", he affirms that it has been decided to initiate a series of actions that will begin with the launch of a signature collection campaign to express their "disagreement" and demand that residents be attended to "as has been done until now, that is, morning and afternoon.”
Likewise, Mateo Ramón announces that he will transfer the request to the Lanzarote parliamentarians of the Nationalist Group so that they request the appearance in the regional Chamber of the Minister of Health, Blas Trujillo.
