Coalición Canaria Lanzarote celebrated this Friday its campaign closing in a Charco de San Ginés "filled to the brim, where hundreds of people" showed their support to the head of the list to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, and to the candidates for the Presidency of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, and to the seven Mayors: Echedey Eugenio (Arrecife), Víctor Robayna (Haría), David Rocío (San Bartolomé), Amado Vizcaíno (Tías), Jesús Machín (Tinajo), Emilio Machín (Yaiza) and Olivia Duque (Teguise).
The nationalists asked for the support of the population at the polls, stating that it is the only political option with the capacity to guarantee the future of Lanzarote and La Graciosa; something that can only be achieved by recovering the path of progress initiated by the nationalists and that the lost investments return to both islands.
Only in this way, it will be possible to respond to the multiple initiatives of social, economic, environmental, territorial, cultural and sports scope aimed at improving the well-being of people and preserving the environmental and landscape values of the islands.
The application of many of these measures will require institutional cooperation, so the general secretary of CC in Lanzarote and candidate for the Canarian Parliament, Migdalia Machín, asked the population of Lanzarote and Graciosa to place their trust in the nationalist formation, which has demonstrated a more than effective management in those institutions where it has governed alone, such as the town councils of Teguise and Tinajo; it has proven essential for municipalities such as Haría and Yaiza and has not lowered its guard in San Bartolomé and Tías.
Likewise, she was confident that the residents of Arrecife will receive the prize that was snatched from them in the last elections "by those who joined in an unnatural pact with the sole intention of defeating us", and will finally become "a beloved city, up to the standard that a Biosphere Reserve capital deserves".
Machín recalled that "We are people working for people" and that "no one is able to fight for this land as CC does. We do not bow our heads, nor do we look the other way. It is time to work positively, serenely and constructively"
Thus, the candidate to the Canarian Chamber insisted that, unlike the state parties, Coalición Canaria only obeys the Canarian people from the institutions. "We are willing to reconquer Lanzarote and La Graciosa".
For his part, the candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Oswaldo Betancort, after sharing part of his time with the former president of the first institution, Pedro San Ginés, and thanking him for the work done during the ten years he was in charge of it, expressed his enthusiasm for recovering a nationalist Cabildo and achieving a united Lanzarote managed by everyone.
"I have the illusion of governing an island that respects its environment and is aware of its potential and its landscape value, I have the illusion of attending to the claim and the feeling of the people who need it most", he said and added that: "They say that illusion moves mountains, and I am moved by the desire for a more competitive Lanzarote and La Graciosa island".
The candidate for the Cabildo insisted that "I have the illusion of moving forward together and demonstrating that another model, where social and economic well-being is increased, is possible", he recalled that "everything has been said but nothing has been done", and affirmed that "on Sunday we are going to change this island".
The candidate of Coalición Canaria to the City Council of Arrecife, Echedey Eugenio, acknowledged that there is much work to be done given that there are many deficiencies in the capital. "It is necessary to immediately execute a neighborhood plan that improves the sidewalks, asphalt and lighting of our streets, starting with Argana and ending in four years in the city center; a project to improve the free spaces and qualification of our parks and green areas and a project to promote cultural, sports and leisure activities that reaches every neighborhood and every age group, without forgetting to demand solutions to the issues of pluviales, the Argana Health Center or the Congress Palace of our city". In short, Eugenio concluded, "it is about lanzarotizing Arrecife, transforming the city to be the worthy capital of Lanzarote and the Biosphere Reserve and the blue capital of Macaronesia, a transforming project looking at the sea to win the future".
From the north of the island, the candidate for the City Council of Haría, Víctor Robayna, assured that "in Haría we feel that this is our moment".
Thus, he affirmed that "today, in this act, we close the electoral campaign, but this closing is the prelude to something very important and I am convinced that on Monday it will be Coalición Canaria who will open again the doors of the seven town councils of the island and of our Cabildo, with the women and men who truly represent the canariedad".
Robayna assured that "from Monday we will be fortunate, because we will be Canarians governed by Canarians, and there is no greater pride for the Canary Islands, Lanzarote and La Graciosa, than to dress again in white, blue and yellow. The destiny and the future will be again of those who one day understood and felt our land. Coalición Canaria for and for the Canary Islands".
Emilio Machín, candidate for the City Council of Yaiza, expressed his gratitude to all the members of his team and to the residents of the municipality for the immense support provided during the recent electoral campaign.
"I have had the opportunity to visit numerous homes and establishments, sharing with the residents the Coalición Canaria project for the future of Yaiza. It has been a campaign full of memorable and enriching moments, where the affection and support of the people of the town has been felt".
The southern candidate highlighted the effort and dedication of his campaign team, and thanked the residents of Yaiza for giving him the opportunity to explain in detail the Coalición Canaria project. "The receptivity and participation of the community have been fundamental to establish a constructive dialogue and strengthen the ties that unite the town".
Finally, he stated that his main objective is "to continue working tirelessly to build a prosperous, supportive and constantly growing municipality".
Olivia Duque, candidate for Mayor of Teguise made it clear that Coalición Canaria is the only party with a project of creation, closeness and illusion. "I will not stop demanding, nor will I stop being the Olivia I have always been. The Olivia who firmly believes that Coalición Canaria is the key to progress in Teguise".
Duque made it clear that knowing how to be and listen is the watchword of the team she leads and of the entire party. "We are not afraid of challenges, I am a woman who is motivated by difficulty, who grows in adversity. CC has the capacity and experience to stay in the government and move forward from a female governance with a renewed team and with a political formation of present and future".
From San Bartolomé, the candidate David Rocío affirmed that after months knocking on all the houses, "it smells like change and that is how our neighbors transmit it to us". "San Bartolomé has more concerns than four years ago. We are the only ones with the experience and the capacity to give our municipality a real change. We are decisive and close".
He also stated that CC is the only party that not only says what it is going to do, but also says how it is going to do it. "We are the best option for San Bartolomé and the people know it. They transmit it to us in every coffee, in every table, in every door, in every street of our town. Goliath is scared, he is already on his knees and David will knock him down this May 28th".
Jesús Machín, candidate for Tinajo, took the stage of Charco de San Ginés willing to revalidate a new absolute majority. "We have to change what doesn't work", he assured, clarifying that Tinajo does not need to change government, but it does need the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands to do so.
"Things only work if CC governs, because we are the only free party to defend the Canary Islands. We need the nationalist voice to reach all the institutions so that the change we need becomes a reality", he said, adding and recalling that "doors are not only knocked on during the 15 days of the campaign, they have to be knocked on all year round, listening to the neighbor 365 days a year, whether we are governing or not".
The candidate for the City Council of Tías, Amado Vizcaíno, assured that "on Monday the next four years of work begin" and accused the current government of lacking illusion, initiative and imagination. "They have been making the same promises, the same lies for twenty years. Twenty years with the same electoral program, saying the same thing and they have done nothing".
Thus, he lamented the last-minute announcements of scholarships, subsidies and paving and affirmed that "that is going to change because a new mandate is going to begin in which we are going to work for the residents of Tías, four years working with an enthusiastic team, because Tías deserves to have a nationalist mayor".
