The General Directorate of Public Function of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared null the appointment of the current accidental comptroller of the Arrecife City Council "because it was poorly executed", according to Coalición Canaria in a statement. "The incompetence of Eva de Anta and the neglect of the governing group that she leads continue to endanger the capital's Consistory", the nationalists point out in their press release.
"With the decisions taken by this mayor, it is impossible for the institution to get back on its feet. Her management is full of lies", stressed the municipal spokesman for CC, Samuel Martín, who pointed out that "it was Eva de Anta who decided to dismiss the previous comptroller, arguing that another qualified comptroller of the first category would soon join". "Lies, one after another, that only harm the citizens", he added.
Martín believes that "this is a new blow to the population of Arrecife and to the groups awaiting the payment of subsidies, as is the case of sports clubs". "Some clubs that these days face for the third time and without positive results the end of the term set by the Consistory for the payment of aid. Three times they have set a date and three times they have deceived the clubs that, now, with the decision to which the Public Function has been forced, they must suffer a new delay because it is time to appoint a new comptroller again and that the person chosen is up to date with all the documentation. It's crazy", said the CC spokesman in Arrecife.
Coalición Canaria also warns that "the continuous delays in the payment of pending subsidies to sports clubs put at risk the call for aid for the 2017-2018 season". "Nor has the City Council fulfilled its promise to the Arrecife Studio Theater (TEA). They were given two weeks for the payment of the subsidy and after that time everything remains the same", criticized the nationalist spokesman, who stressed that "it is a shame that there are parties in the opposition that continue to bet on this misgovernment".
