Carolina Déniz is no longer the spokesperson for the Government of the Canary Islands

The Deputy Minister of Communication of the Government of the Canary Islands, Martín J. Marrero Pérez, is the new spokesperson for the Executive, replacing Carolina Déniz, who will dedicate herself exclusively to her obligations as Deputy Minister of Justice and Security. The objective is to "reinforce the work and modernize this department by promoting infrastructure, personnel training actions and the computerization of the courts", according to the Canarian president, Paulino Rivero, at the end of the Governing Council held in the capital of Gran Canaria.

In the appointments chapter, Rivero also announced Jorge Bonet as the new director of the Sustainable Development Agency for the Fight against Climate Change, replacing Faustino García Márquez. The Canarian president justified the delay in appointing a new director for this position, after the resignation of García Márquez last October, "due to his interest in finding a person with Bonet's profile" to lead an organization "that is a personal commitment."

The former director requested his dismissal due to "discrepancies in the way of understanding sustainable development" with the Canarian Government regarding the Law of Urgent Measures for Sectoral Dynamization and the Regulation of Tourism.

García Márquez requested his dismissal from the Governing Council after spending just over a year at the head of this organization, because his way of understanding sustainable development "is not something new", and he has it "too ingrained to change it at his age", he said after making his resignation public.
