"I want to talk about my hero." This is how Ernesto Sáenz de Buruaga, presenter of the national program Las Mañanas de la Cope, referred to Pedro de Armas. It was his introduction to the interview with the PP spokesman in Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, to talk about the controversial absence of the PNL councilor, who has been absent from the City Council for almost five months. In this interview, Reguera defended De Armas, to the astonishment of the journalist.
"I have the impression that it has transcended that this councilor has government responsibilities and his salary and nothing of that, because he is an opposition councilor", Reguera pointed out, to whom Sáenz de Buruaga replied that "in no case" has it been said in Cope that De Armas has a municipal salary.
"The only thing I'm saying is that if someone is elected to be a councilor, they can't go partying for five months", the journalist pointed out during the interview with Cándido Reguera. The PP spokesman insisted that "an image" of Pedro de Armas' absence has been transmitted that "does not seem fair". He even spoke of a "nice anecdote".
So much so, that finally the journalist said: "Oh my god, all politicians talk the same", and immediately dismissed Cándido Reguera.
