Canary Islands wins the award for best stand at Fitur

The stand of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands has won the award for the best stand at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which takes place in Madrid this week.

The stand of the Ministry of Tourism, which repeats the award obtained at the last Word Travel Market, in London, was distinguished this afternoon "for its originality, spectacularity and functionality", according to this department in a statement.

The Canary Islands has had to compete with stands of wholesalers, tour operators, travel agencies, transport companies, hotels, leisure and culture, residential tourism, media, Spanish and foreign official organizations, professional associations, autonomous communities and a large number of participating countries from five continents.

The stand, with an area of almost 2,000 m2, has combined compositions of artisan carpentry adapted to contemporary geometries, with avant-garde and innovative elements. In this way, the combination and contrast between matte and high gloss finishes give it an aspect of modernity, creating at the same time a warm and human space. Likewise, the materials allude to concepts and values enjoyed by the Canary Islands tourism offer.

The conception of the space as a unit in which a meeting point is created has also been highlighted. In addition, the stand has three prominent points of attention: an area dedicated to the Say no to Winter Blues campaign, another in which visitors have had extensive information about the four product clubs, and a third dedicated to the volunteer program.
