The Cabildo of Lanzarote has awarded the contract for the Homogenization and Improvement of the Tourist Information Office Network, an ambitious project that has an investment of 359,279.25 euros, IGIC included, and will be executed by the specialized company IURBAN DIGITAL TOURISM, S.L.
The initiative is entirely financed within the framework of the European Union's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation EU). The main objective of this action consists of transforming the island's visitor service points, ensuring that tourist information is offered in a coherent, up-to-date manner and under the highest standards of technological quality, regardless of the geographical point where the tourist is located.
The president of the Cabildo and Minister of Tourism, Oswaldo Betancort, has pointed out that this award represents "a milestone in the island's digitalization strategy". "With these European funds, we are equipping our network of offices with 21st-century tools so that visitors receive personalized, digital, and excellent service from the first minute of their stay".
For their part, the vice president and head of the Planning and Project Coordination area highlighted that the project will allow not only to improve the traveler experience, “but also to optimize data management internally”. “The homogenization of the network will allow us to collect precise metrics on the interests and needs of those who visit us, facilitating data-driven decision-making to continue promoting a sustainable and competitive tourism model,” she asserted.
The contract has an execution period of five months from its formalization. The works will include both the improvement of the physical infrastructure and the supply of technological equipment that allow for more agile and multichannel interaction with the tourist.
