The board of directors of the hotel association Asolán conveyed this Friday to the Tías City Council and the Civil Guard their concern about the security situation in the town of Puerto del Carmen, given a resurgence of criminal activity in that tourist center, according to the aforementioned association.
"It is not a situation to create alarm, since these are generally minor events, but we believe that it is necessary to coordinate actions to avoid it and not allow them to increase," said the president of Asolán, Francisco Armas.
The issue was analyzed in a working breakfast held by representatives of the tourism association with the head of the Civil Guard and the mayor of Tías, in response to an initiative by Asolán to "participate in the coordination tasks that allow for a
greater security and presence of the members of the security forces in this municipality," according to the association.
The meeting, held at the Hotel Los Fariones, in Puerto del Carmen, was attended by the head of the Civil Guard Detachment in the municipality of Tías, Ensign Pedro Pérez Cutillas, his commanders, the mayor of Tías and the Chief of the Local Police of this body.
