Arrecife will pay Moyma's debt to the workers and take the company to court

The Arrecife City Council, "as jointly and severally liable and with a court ruling", will face the debts that Moyma has with its workers, and will then require the company "to return the total amount in court". This was announced this Friday by the mayoress, Eva de Anta, during the signing of the contract with the new company awarded the home care service in the capital.

The City Council decided to terminate the contract with Moyma due to the company's breaches, which had been failing to pay its employees' salaries for months. Finally, even before the new tender called by the City Council was resolved, Moyma stopped providing the service, more than a month ago.

"We have the peace of mind that care for people who need it is resumed with all the guarantees and absolute confidence in the new awardee, who comes with great enthusiasm and desire to work," said Eva de Anta during the signing of the contract with Asidma.

For her part, the manager of the company, Ana Rodríguez Zabalza, estimated that "in a week" the service will begin to be provided to the 90 beneficiaries of home help and highlighted as priorities "the quality of care, the optimization of resources and a satisfied workforce".

As stated in the tender specifications, the workers of the previous awarded company will be subrogated by Asidma. The contract has a duration of one year, extendable for a second year, for an amount of 640,000 euros per year.
