The Arrecife City Council is going to launch the execution of the works for the improvement of the central warehouses destined for the garages of the municipal buses. After a bidding process, carried out this past summer, the capital Consistory intends to renovate the entire roof of these warehouses, improve their interior accesses, and adapt their central facilities.

The mayor Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Transportation and Mobility, Mario González Altube, visited this Monday morning, the warehouses and workshops of the municipal buses where the Consistory has allocated an investment "of more than 300,000 euros" for these improvement works that will be completed throughout next year.

De León highlighted that "in the first quarter of 2024 the Municipal Bus Service will improve with the incorporation of new units, which have already been acquired and is awaiting delivery by the firm that won the manufacturing contract."

The mayor pointed out that with the next municipal budgets the city will be able to "give a good change to the municipal bus service, with the items assigned to promote citizen mobility in urban public transport."

For his part, Mario González Altube, detailed that with the incorporation of the new buses the city council "will be in a position to improve the rotations and services provided to bus users."

From the Department of Mobility and Transportation, a "series of projects and investments" are underway to improve in the "new year" the public transport services by bus throughout Arrecife with the Municipal Buses.
