Arrecife renews the deteriorated fences of CEIP La Destila

This intervention responds to a demand from the educational community of the center, since the old fences presented an advanced state of deterioration, with rust and breakages.

Renewed fencing in La Destila

The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, led by Abigail González, has carried out the replacement of eight fences in the Infant School playgrounds of CEIP La Destila.

This intervention responds to a demand from the educational community of the center, since the old fences presented an advanced state of deterioration, with rust and breakages that put the safety of minors at risk.

To solve this problem, we have proceeded to remove eight units of existing plates, polish welds and scratches, and install 6 mm thick composite sheet in white.

The Councilor for Education, Abigail González, has stressed the importance of this intervention for the safety of students, stressing that “the safety of students is a priority that we will not overlook and for this it is essential to continue improving the infrastructure of schools in Arrecife, and ensure adequate school environments. The specific case of the state of these fences was a concern for everyone, since their deterioration posed an obvious risk to the boys and girls of CEIP La Destila”, he said.

In addition, González has announced that her department is working on the bidding for an open contract for the replacement of all the bars and fencing of the center, in order to comprehensively improve the conditions of the school.

“We know that there is still much to be done, but we are responding to the needs raised by the educational community and we will continue working to improve the schools in the municipality”, concluded the councilor.
