The Arrecife City Council, through the Mobility area, directed by Ángela Hernández, publishes the call for the examination of the Aptitude Tests to obtain the Municipal Permit for Taxi drivers in the municipality of Arrecife, a necessary qualification certificate for the exercise of the profession of taxi driver, included in article 8 of Decree 74/2012, which approves the Taxi Service Regulations in the Canary Islands.
To obtain the Municipal Permit, applicants can apply from this Wednesday and until March 21 in the Arrecife City Council registry, where they must also present the original documentation to be verified and to record that it is an authentic copy in the file.
Likewise, applicants must have a valid Class B or higher Driver's License, in accordance with the General Driver Regulations; not suffer from an infectious-contagious disease, nor a physical defect that makes them unable to provide the service. In addition, they must have Spanish nationality or that of another State of the European Union or another foreign country with which, by virtue of the provisions of the Treaties or International Agreements signed by Spain, the aforementioned requirement is not required.
They must also attach a passport-size photograph, General Primary Education degree or equivalent, or higher. In the case of qualifications obtained abroad, they must be in possession of the credential that accredits its homologation or validation and proof of having paid the regulatory fees.
The exam will consist of a test aimed at evaluating the knowledge of the candidates on topics related to the provision of the taxi service and will cover, at least, the following subjects: physical environment, location of public offices, official centers, educational and sports centers, health centers, main hotels and places of leisure and mass recreation and the most direct routes to reach the points of destination, general knowledge of the city, as well as street names with current names, knowledge of current regulations in relation to the Public Taxi service,
For this, the opposition will consist of two mandatory and eliminatory exercises: the first exercise will consist of a test type or slight development, in a maximum time of one hour and a half. The second exercise will consist of carrying out an individual practical test, in which each applicant must identify, locate and, where appropriate, explain the history and relevance of the ten public or places of interest established by the court on the day of the exam, grouped in pairs, as well as a description of the shortest route between both. This exercise will be carried out in a maximum time of 30 minutes per applicant.
