The Arrecife City Council already has all the sports subsidy calls underway with the publication in the BOP, last Friday, October 31 in the BOP, the opening of applications for sporting events. With the inclusion of this announcement from the Department of Sports, the City Council already has the entire process of the new sports subsidy calls underway, in the different modalities, and which from now on are governed by the new municipal ordinances.

After being processed throughout this year, they have been in effect since the beginning of October to give more agility to clubs, athletes, and organizing entities.

The Municipal Government of Arrecife has created a new ordinance that gives clubs more capacity to justify the subsidies they receive from this local Administration in sports matters. The City Council allocates almost 800,000 euros for sports subsidies, defined in the three areas. Last week of October, the Arrecife Consistory published the three specific calls with the insertions of the opening of the period to submit applications. The Department of Sports published last Friday the 31st, in the BOP, the opening of applications for subsidies that will be processed under the competitive concurrence regime, and destined for the organization of sporting events considered of interest to the municipality of Arrecife, charged to the budgets of this economic year endowed with nearly 800,000 euros.

Of that amount, 280,000 euros are allocated, with Friday's announcement in the BOP, to fund the sporting events that are part of the municipal strategy to "consolidate Arrecife as the capital of events and sports," recalls the councilwoman and spokesperson for the PP, Eli Merino. The other two calls, for axes 1 and 2, were published last Wednesday.

The Department of Sports has worked in a coordinated manner on drafting the regulations, public display, and final approval, which took place at the beginning of this October, with its publication in the BOP and entry into force. With these new regulations, the City Council is publishing the call for sports subsidies for the current year of 2025, sports season 2024/2025. The current governing group took office in July 2023. That previous call, which was governed by the previous regulations, covered the 2023/2024 sports season.

Eli Merino highlighted that, "from now on, the Department of Sports has more up-to-date guidelines that will allow clubs and athletes to process their subsidies more quickly, being able to carry out the mandatory justifications, also in a more precise way, in competitive concurrence."

Application forms and annexes will be available to interested parties at the Electronic Headquarters of the Arrecife City Council.

This call is governed by the specific ordinance regulating the Regulatory Bases for Subsidies to be granted by the Department of Sports of the Arrecife City Council for the granting and justification of competitive concurrence subsidies for the organization of sporting events considered to be of interest to the municipality of Arrecife, definitively published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 120, of October 6, 2025, as established by Law 38/2003, General of Subsidies.

The financial obligations arising from this call for proposals will be executed against the 2025 budget of this City Council: 340 48003, called "General Administration of Sports. Subsidies for sporting events" for the amount of 280,000.00 euros. The deadline for submitting applications for this call for sporting events will be 10 business days from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 131, Friday, October 31. The submission of applications outside the established period will lead to their inadmissibility without further processing.
