The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council has announced the start of the period to submit applications for the call for subsidies under a competitive system, aimed at the acquisition of textbooks, school supplies, computer equipment, uniforms and sportswear for the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative, published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the Province, has an allocation of "120,000 euros".
Maite Corujo highlighted the "fulfillment of the commitment" acquired with the families of Arrecife, pointing out that this year the call has been "launched simultaneously with the lists of those admitted to educational centers after having requested enrollment, which allows for better planning and support for families from the beginning of the course.
“The aid for the previous year was announced in October, already with the course started, and our goal was to improve this aspect, which we have achieved,” said Corujo. The objective of this call is to partially collaborate in the expenses that, as a consequence of the schooling of minors, families in a vulnerable economic and social situation must incur.
Families may apply for this aid from June 25 to July 22, 2024. The subsidy will partially cover the expenses related to the acquisition of textbooks, school supplies, computer equipment, uniforms and sportswear, with a maximum amount of up to 200 euros per enrolled minor.
In order to be eligible for this aid, applicants must be registered in the municipality of Arrecife with a minimum seniority of one year and be parents, mothers or legal guardians of minors enrolled in publicly owned centers, from the second cycle of early childhood education to baccalaureate and intermediate-level cycles. In addition, the economic income of the family unit must not exceed 18,000 euros per year, equivalent to 2.5% of the IPREM 2024.
The documentation required for the application includes the duly completed application form, the certificate or proof of enrollment of the minor, the corresponding responsible declaration, the valid DNI, NIE or passport of the members of the family unit over 14 years of age, the family book or certificates from the civil registry, and in case of separation or divorce, the corresponding judgment. You must also justify the monthly economic income of the family unit and, if applicable, other documents such as disability certificates.
The regulatory bases of the call and its corresponding annexes are available to interested persons in the Notice Board of the Electronic Headquarters of the Arrecife City Council (https://arrecife.sedelectronica.es), on the website www.arrecife.es, and in the Social Welfare Center located on Avda. Medular s/n (Next to the Red Cross). Likewise, you can request information by telephone contact at no. 928 81 27 50 ext. 1400.
Applications and their mandatory documentation will be submitted to the General Registry or Auxiliary Registries of the Arrecife City Council and at the electronic headquarters.
