The Department of Citizen Participation of the Arrecife City Council, led by Cathaysa Suárez, has launched an online neighborhood survey with the aim of learning firsthand the needs, strengths and dynamics of participation in the city's neighborhoods.
This initiative is part of an ambitious socio-community diagnosis project that seeks to improve citizen involvement in municipal life and promote more active and effective participation.
The survey, accessible through the website of the capital's City Council and through a QR code printed on various information posters that will be distributed throughout the city, will allow residents to share their opinions and proposals on how to improve life in Arrecife. In addition, information about the initiative will be distributed in all municipal buildings and schools, with the aim of reaching as many citizens as possible.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Cathaysa Suárez, explained that "this survey is a unique opportunity for the residents of Arrecife to make their voices heard and actively contribute to the construction of a more inclusive and participatory city. Their answers will help us identify the factors that facilitate or hinder participation in the activities promoted by the City Council, associations and local groups."
The results of the survey will be fundamental to achieving three key objectives: Collectively reflect on the challenges of citizen participation in Arrecife; identify strategies and proposals to improve neighborhood involvement in municipal life; and develop a catalog of good practices to serve as a reference for future actions.
The socio-community diagnosis project includes, in addition to the neighborhood survey, other research tools such as interviews and round tables with key actors. Through this process, the Citizen Participation Area seeks to generate a detailed map of the problems and strengths of each neighborhood, promoting a governance model based on transparency and citizen collaboration.
"We want this initiative to be a reflection of the City Council's commitment to active listening and the realization of solutions together with the citizens. Participation is not only a right, it is also a powerful tool to transform our city," added Suárez.
The councilor invites the entire population to participate in the survey and join this initiative, whose impact will be decisive for improving the quality of life in the capital of the Island.
