Arrecife intensifies the cleaning of the municipality's beaches

The Arrecife City Council affirms that it has "intensified the cleaning of all the beaches of the capital of Lanzarote", carrying out a third cleaning plan in a year to clean up the capital's coastline.

The Department of Beaches, which is the responsibility of the popular councilor Ángela Hernández, reports that in these first days of October the works have been completed where the entire surroundings of La Arena beach, next to the Castle of San José, have been cleaned up. The works have also allowed the removal of waste in the section of the promenade that borders this cove between the Los Mármoles dock and the MIAC.

In addition, the Arrecife Department of Environment and Beaches maintains that "cleaning and hygiene work is being redoubled on all beaches."

The municipal machinery of Arrecife has already acted in the cleaning of the sands on the beaches of Reducto, El Cable and La Concha, and in the small cove next to the Castle of San Gabriel, in recent months. Now, this fall, the accumulated garbage has been removed from the surroundings of La Arena beach, a cove very popular with residents of the neighborhoods of AltaVista, Los Alonso, Lloret and Valterra, among others.

Councilor Ángela Hernández has also explained that these days the installation of panels is underway informing that pets are not allowed to swim on the beaches of the Arrecife coastline.
