In the memory of many residents of the Port of Arrecife, the moments of their baths in this small cove are still engraved, between the accesses to the Commercial Dock, built at the beginning of the 20th century, and the road, through the Puente de las Bolas, towards the Castillo de San Gabriel.
The project planned by the Department of Public Works of the Arrecife City Council, under the direct direction of the mayor, aims to give shape to the idea of the artist Ildefonso Aguilar, Gold Medal of the Canary Islands in 2015, and adopted son of Lanzarote, since 2016, to allow the removal of that small wall that covers the beach, and ensure that citizens can bathe in this enclave of Arrecife's history accessing through a staircase, integrated into the promenade, and made of volcanic stone. Even recycling the same material that can be extracted from the aforementioned wall, built before the protections of Heritage and Coasts.
