The Deputy Mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, received this morning at the Municipal Market the four-year-old boys and girls from the CEO Argana, within the framework of the educational project Know your island.

During the visit, the little ones premiered their official passports, a symbolic element with which they will be stamping each of the municipalities they visit throughout their school stage. Arrecife has been the first destination of this tour, which will continue course by course until culminating in sixth grade with the visit to all the municipalities of Lanzarote and also to the Chinijo Archipelago.

The project, which was born in the 2022/2023 school year as a center initiative of the CEO Argana, aims for the students of Infant and Primary to know their closest environment, its history, its geography and its values, fostering an emotional and responsible bond with the island they inhabit.

During the meeting, Echedey Eugenio shared a heartwarming chat with the little ones, who were especially interested in environmental issues such as recycling, animal care and the cleanliness of public spaces.

“It has been a very enriching experience. Listening to these children speak with such awareness about nature and the environment gives us hope. This type of initiative not only teaches them geography or local history, but also values that are fundamental for the future of Lanzarote”, the Deputy Mayor highlighted.

Eugenio was accompanied by the Councilor for Youth, Rosmen Quevedo, and the Councilor for Cleaning, Jacobo Lemes, who also took note of the observations of the little ones.

The Deputy Mayor "congratulates the educational team of the CEO Argana for this initiative, which combines education, identity and environmental commitment".
