Arrecife celebrates an extraordinary Plenary session to complete the file that will allow the construction of public housing

A modification of the inventory will be approved to complete the transfer of the land to the Canary Islands Government

Arrecife holds an extraordinary Plenary Session to complete the file that will allow the construction of public housing

The new government group of the Arrecife City Council will complete this week an administrative file that they say has been "stuck for some time", and that will allow the Canary Islands Government to have plots of land in the Maneje area for the construction of Official Protection homes.

Although the transfer of this land had already been approved in the Plenary in the past term, the regional Executive warned that the procedure had not been completed. Now, in an extraordinary and urgent session called for this Wednesday, the inventory will be rectified to correct the situation of that property and allow the transfer to materialize.

For the moment, the opinion has already been approved this Tuesday in the Urban Planning Information Commission, where it has had the favorable votes of the parties that form the government group led by Ástrid Përez, and with the abstention of the opposition, according to reports from the City Council in a statement.

"The mayor Astrid Pérez, who is also the head of the Urban Planning Area, had stated that among her priorities was to facilitate the promotion of social or Official Protection homes in the capital of Lanzarote, given the high citizen demand, and to speed up the transfer of municipal land in Maneje to promote public housing by the Government of the Canary Islands, for which there is a financial file", they point out in the press release, in which they point out that after the Plenary session this Wednesday, "this vital issue for the capital of Lanzarote will be unlocked, and the free transfer of these plots of land for the construction of public housing can be certified before the Canary Islands Executive".
