The Department of Seniors of the Arrecife City Council, led by Rosmen Quevedo, continues its work to improve the planning and quality of activities aimed at the elderly in the municipality. As part of this strategy, the bidding of larger contracts has been prioritized to guarantee a more professional and efficient organization of all scheduled events.

In this context, the road transport service contract has already been awarded, aimed at facilitating the transfers of seniors in the context of leisure activities promoted by the Department. This service will cover both intramunicipal and intermunicipal routes, including transfers within Arrecife and throughout the rest of the island of Lanzarote, ensuring the active participation of seniors in social, cultural, and educational events.

The Deputy Mayor and Head of the Contracting Area, Echedey Eugenio, has highlighted the importance of the bidding process as a guarantee of transparency and efficiency: "From the Contracting area, we will continue to support all procedures that ensure quality services with legal guarantees. This model allows the City Council to organize activities with greater anticipation and with better results for the population."

The contract stipulates that the awarded company must have a minimum of eight 55-seater vehicles and three 21-seater vehicles, all with adequate technical conditions and adapted for people with reduced mobility, guaranteeing safety, accessibility, comfort, and punctuality in all services.

The Councilor for Seniors, Rosmen Quevedo, has highlighted that "the awarding of this contract represents a very important step forward for the Department, as it not only guarantees that our seniors can participate in all planned activities, but that they do so in optimal conditions of safety and comfort. We continue working with the same idea of bidding for all senior activities, with the aim of improving their planning and guaranteeing the best quality in the services we offer to our seniors."

In addition to the transportation service, the Department has also formalized the awarding for the organization of the traditional Canarian ball tournament, one of the most deeply rooted activities among the seniors of Arrecife. This tournament not only promotes physical activity but also coexistence and the promotion of popular traditions.

Likewise, Rosmen Quevedo adds that "two new contracts are pending to be tendered in the coming dates: the catering service and the Christmas lunch-enyesque, which are fundamental for the success of the most important events of the year."
