The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Youth Area directed by Aroa Revelo, has reactivated a new edition of the Amalgama, shine and share emotions program in a summer format, with reduced workshops aimed at young people from Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The initiative seeks to reinforce the work carried out during the school year in the area of emotional health, personal well-being, and social skills.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasizes that "the youth of Lanzarote need safe spaces where they can learn to manage their emotions, communicate with confidence, and build healthy relationships. Programs like Amalgama are a key tool to accompany this process and prevent situations of vulnerability."
Similarly, the Councilor for Youth, Aroa Revelo, explained that "we want to give continuity to a training experience that has had a very positive impact on the students of the island. More than 1,300 students from 1st year of ESO have participated this year in Amalgama, and this summer edition allows us to consolidate this line of work with participatory and personalized dynamics."
The new summer edition will take place during the months of July and August, through group workshops of a maximum of five people, thus facilitating closer, more dynamic attention adapted to the individual needs of the participants. The activities will take place from the second half of July, in open environments or specific spaces, with proposals that combine healthy leisure with emotional learning.
The program includes practical exercises focused on self-esteem, conflict resolution, empathy, emotional control, and improvement of interpersonal communication. In addition, it promotes an educational approach that puts the young person at the center, favoring their integral development beyond the academic field.
