Astrid Pérez, mayor of Arrecife, presented the Arrecife Tourism Award 2022 to AIDA Cruises in an event held during the recess of the Ordinary Plenary Session that took place on September 30.
The award ceremony took place at the Mayor's office, where Felipe Castro, representative of the entity, was present to collect the award.
The mayor, in addition to congratulating the company for the achievement of the award, stressed that it is "a very important shipping company for the capital that has contributed enormously to the economic recovery after the pandemic".
It is expected that in 2022, the award-winning tourism company will make a total of 76 calls in Lanzarote, with around 125,000 cruise passengers.
She also highlighted the importance of AIDA Cruises within the sector itself in the capital municipality, where "more and more people are choosing a route that passes through the capital of Lanzarote to enjoy their holidays", says Astrid.
Armando Santana, Councilor for Tourism in the Arrecife City Council, also wanted to congratulate the shipping company, indicating that the company "has demonstrated loyalty and commitment to our municipality".
AIDA Cruises has assured that Lanzarote is always among its options due to the summer atmosphere present during almost the entire year thanks to its climate, in addition to the great variety of places to visit and take excursions that the island offers.
