The mayor of Yaiza, Gladys Acuña, has "categorically" denied the criticisms launched by CC through a poster that is being distributed among the residents, in which it indicates that the General Plan "reclassifies the land of the mayor and her family" in Uga and leaves "other residents without a future".
In this regard, Acuña has invited the spokesperson for CC in Yaiza, Leonardo Rodríguez, to bring these facts to the attention of "all anti-corruption units, the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigating Courts, as if he wants to go to the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court and as many judicial units as exist", considering "the seriousness of the facts" that this nationalist formation denounces. "When the alleged facts are proven, let the corresponding penalties be imposed," Acuña said in a statement.
Likewise, the mayor has urged the Minister of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands and the highest authority of the General Plan of Yaiza, Domingo Berriel, "of CC"; the Deputy Minister of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mario Pérez, "of CC"; the general director of Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, Jesús Romero, "of CC", to "express categorically whether the facts denounced by the councilor of CC in Yaiza are true or false".
And it is that they, together with the technical director of the General Plan of Yaiza belonging to the Ministry of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands; and the drafter of the General Plan, Jorge Coderch, "hold the responsibility for the document and, therefore, would be accomplices of such an offense to the residents of the municipality of Yaiza".
The mayor recalled that "the virtues and defects that the General Plan may have are the responsibility of the party that directs the Ministry of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands, which is none other than CC, the same political formation in which the councilor Leonardo Rodríguez militates". "Mr. Rodríguez's accusations of corruption are clearly directed at his party colleagues", he stated.
