Citizen Alternative repudiates the attitude of the Arrecife government group, given their refusal to seek those responsible for granting the illegal license for the Islas Canarias parking lot.
Thus, while the formation is satisfied with the closure of the parking lot, which they themselves requested last week, they feel "ashamed" and "outraged" by the words offered at a press conference this Monday by the mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, and supported by his deputy mayor, José Montelongo, who stated that "they were not willing to hold accountable those people who were involved in the decision-making when granting the parking lot license".
"Citizen Alternative cannot support a silent and complicit attitude towards possible fraudulent behaviors, trying to convince us that the entire process was correct, when it has been the Justice system that has declared the agreement illegal. We cannot allow the City Council to pay for the damages caused without even bothering, on the part of the PP-PSOE group, to look for those responsible," they point out from the party, from where they are "against the political corporatism that establishes: Today for you and tomorrow for me".
Citizen Alternative has presented, for debate in the next ordinary plenary session, a motion where it is requested that an investigation be opened to demand possible responsibilities, if any, from all those involved in the matter.
In this sense, they make a public call for all the residents of Arrecife, who so deem, to be present at this plenary session. "It will be at that moment where the responsibility of each of the councilors of this City Council, and in full view of everyone, demonstrate the ability to defend public interests," they conclude.
