A website for tourists to book with small hoteliers

A website prepared by the tourism association, ASOLAN, will allow tourists to contract accommodation in the island from their country. In Lanzarote there are around 65,000 places, according to the latest official tourism statistics in the Canary Islands. Of these places, more than 40 percent belong to small local tourism companies that directly operate and manage their complexes without relying on Reservation Centers or large tourist exploitation chains. Thus, this website aims to benefit, above all, these small hoteliers who will be able to access the more than 400,000 tourists and passengers who will travel to Lanzarote on Low Cost,

according to the forecasts handled by ASOLAN.

This website also has an interactive DVD for the promotion of the natural spaces of Lanzarote, its towns, beauties, offer, tourist complexes and other attractions.

In addition, in the past edition of the Tourism Fair in London, the WTM, ASOLAN has indicated that it closed agreements with the company Jet2.com to join both websites and allow thousands of passengers to access tourist information and contracting in Lanzarote on the Internet. Similarly, ASOLAN, with the collaboration of the Lanzarote Tourism Board and its new portal on the telematic network, intends to sign new agreements with other airlines, including the future low-cost airlines that plan to fly to the island and the Canary Islands from 2008.

Francisco Armas, accompanied by members of his board of directors and the

manager of the Foreign Promotion Society and also of the Lanzarote Tourism Board, Héctor Fernández, announced - in the

course of the Assembly of the tourism association of Lanzarote that was

developed in El Fondeadero last Tuesday - all these data.
