The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Paulino Rivero, and the Minister of Public Works and Territorial Policy, Domingo Berriel, have signed this Tuesday the collaboration agreement with twelve businessmen promoting another 16 projects that have joined the Modernization Plan and Improvement of the Competitiveness Increase of Puerto del Carmen. The agreement will allow businessmen to carry out projects to replace, rehabilitate or improve the accommodation plant, the tourist infrastructure or urban redevelopment of the area.
The objective of this plan, like the rest of those being developed in the Canary Islands, is "the integral collaboration between public and private initiative", so that the most obsolete tourist areas of the archipelago can "improve in a coordinated manner, both in private spaces, as well as in the public infrastructures and facilities that surround them", according to the Executive through a statement.
Seven companies joined the first phase of the Puerto del Carmen Improvement Plan, whose modernization projects "have already begun to move forward", according to the Canarian Executive. Now, 16 new projects "will benefit from the support provided by the Modernization Plan, whose vocation is to remain always open to new incorporations, which allow to increase the overall attractiveness of the Canary Islands as a tourist destination".
The projects that have joined this Tuesday morning to the Modernization Plan are the Balcón del Mar apartments, actions in the establishment located on Harimaguada street, between numbers 8 and 16, improvements on Juan Carlos I avenue or in the bungalows of the Los Fariones hotel. The Los Fariones Sports Center and the Barracuda Shopping Center, as well as the Hyde Park Lane tourist establishment, have also joined this initiative.
Likewise, actions will be carried out in the establishment located on Urano street, in the Hotel Floresta, in the Costamar Shopping Center, in the Izaro Club, in the Vik Hotel San Antonio, in Villas Alondras and in the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park.
