The caravan will depart from the Apartahotel Los Fariones at 12.30 and end at 14.00 in the Parque Islas Canarias with the reading of a manifesto to give way to performances and games. It will be a festive day, which is how the ALTIHAY collective and the Coordinadora LGTB Canarias, in charge of organizing the event, believe demands should be. According to this Association, lesbians, gays, transsexuals and bisexuals are committed to "visibility" to claim their rights, and therefore they will carry out this initiative that will travel along Avenida de las Playas next Saturday.
During the presentation of the event, in which the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Sepúlveda, and the councilor of Youth, Francisca Toledo, as well as representatives of ALTIHAY were present, reference was made to the achievement in terms of rights that this group has achieved in the last year. Although they recognize that they have improved in the "legal but not in the real", since people are still reluctant to assume that there are other ways of understanding sexuality.
It will be the second edition of the Rainbow Caravan that will be held within the framework of activities of the third LGTB Encounters, scheduled from this Thursday until October 15 in Fuerteventura.
