The mayor of Tinajo responds to the accusations of the Socialist Party about his management in the agricultural market, the cheese factory and the Timanfaya park.
A company will hand over La Isleta to the Tinajo City Council in exchange for 5,815 beds, a total of 1,800 can be built in other municipalities in an operation that will be paid for by the Savings Bank.
This was stated by the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who with this explanation tried to respond to the accusations made by the Socialist Party group of the municipality.
The opposition sent a statement in which it was stated that it is a speculative operation as well as "those who believe that the land of Tinajo is for sale to the highest bidder who crosses the borders of our municipality are very wrong."
However, the mayor remained firm and pointed out that he is a defender of the municipality of Tinajo, so "if he had money to buy the entire municipality he would do so and would not build, not like some who exchange their properties for speculation."
However, the PSOE has proposed to Senator Marcos Hernández to submit a question to the Government with the intention of knowing if, within the strategies proposed by the Ministry of the Environment, any action is contemplated in order to save spaces such as La Isleta.
Another of the thorny issues is that of the fishing shelter. Jesús Machín assured that there is a item that will go in the budgets of the Canary Islands Government of about 225,000 euros to start with the dredging while the shelter is being processed. However, the PSOE statement states that the mayor is unable to find funding for this project.
Other points
The other three highlights are the agricultural market, the Timanfaya car park and the cheese factory Regarding the first, Jesús Machín commented: "Where are these people, let them see the agricultural market so they can see how they are working with a item from the Canary Islands Government obtained thanks to a management by Manuel Fajardo Feo of a item of 74,000 euros".
Thus, the work will be completed throughout this month. It will be then when we will insist again on the project to build a car park whose ultimate goal will be for the municipality to acquire the category of tourist.
A project for which the mayor of Tinajo asked for the support of the socialists. However, the opposition party assures that Jesús Machín is unable to start the market or sit down with the people who have the capacity to decide on the car park.
Finally, the cheese factory project has not been carried out, according to Jesús Machín, because the Island Territorial Planning Plan does not allow industrial land to be built in the municipality.
