The association People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA, will organize in the Human Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, scheduled for July 5, a claim against the cruelty suffered by bulls in these festivities. This protest will be led by the Canarian model Lilian Kimberly Jerónimo.
Kimberly will run through the streets of Pamplona completely naked, dressed only with a pair of plastic horns and red scarves. The objective pursued by this association and the deaf-mute Canarian model is to inform tourists of other leisure alternatives that do not involve cruelty and the suffering of animals.
"I am deaf-mute and cannot shout for the animals, but if showing my body serves to give them a voice, I do it, because they cannot be heard either," commented this Tenerife model. PETA has requested the mayor of Pamplona, Yolanda Barcina, through a letter, to replace the old and cruel bullfighting festival with other types of fun activities, "since the bulls, when running terrified through the narrow streets of Pamplona, sometimes slip and fall, hurting themselves or breaking their legs."
