A total of 28 people attended this past Wednesday the first test to obtain the Municipal Taxi Driver Permit in Arrecife. Of these, 13 passed and ten failed. Meanwhile, five did not attend this first control.
The Arrecife City Council, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, has promoted this new call to contribute to new professionals being able to access the taxi driver profession in the capital of Lanzarote, and cover the needs of drivers.
From the Department of Mobility and Transportation of the Arrecife City Council, directed by the councilor Mario González Altube, this new call has been made at the request of the taxi sector, a group with which the capital's mayor and the councilor of the Area have met.
In this first call of 2024, a representative of the taxi sector participated as a member of the Examining Board, along with the other members designated by the Administration. This participation of the taxi group is the first time that it has occurred in these processes.
The Arrecife City Council has promoted two calls in recent months to obtain this permit. In the summer of last year, and now, this February.
Now, those who have passed must pass an upcoming oral exam to obtain the permit that allows them to be a taxi driver in the municipality of Arrecife.
