The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended the yellow warning for haze in Lanzarote until next Saturday at nine in the morning. Aemet predicts that visibility will be reduced during this episode of suspended dust by around three kilometers.
The Security Consortium recommends keeping doors and windows closed, and avoiding going outside if you suffer from chronic respiratory diseases. Also, drink plenty of fluids, avoid dry environments and do not perform strenuous physical exercise while this situation lasts. Citizens are also advised that if they feel unwell, they should see their doctor.
On the other hand, they remind that in this situation visibility is considerably reduced, so if you are driving on the road, they ask that precautions be taken, turn on the lights and reduce speed. It is also recommended to avoid calling by phone, in order to avoid collapsing the lines.
