More than 1,500 people attended the gala held at Playa del Reducto last Saturday. An expectant night and lots of handsome guys in front of the sea. Twenty-seven representatives from the three islands walked and posed before an audience that complimented every movement and encouraged their favorites with signs. Yedai Mendoza's classic elegance won over the jury, who decided to name him Mister Las Palmas.
Before the official awards, the public, through messages, could choose their favorite. Mister Lanzarote, José Jobari Ramos Pérez, was fortunate enough to receive the Audience Award. In addition, he also won the Mister Elegance sash.
The gala began with an original opening in which the Mister hopefuls appeared on stage wearing exotic African-style skirts. The mood of the audience increased with the parades in sportswear and swimwear, until finally showing off their figures on stage in evening wear.
The most anticipated moment was the election of the winner, although there was also recognition for elegant and friendly. The first and second finalists also received applause and compliments, awards that went to Carlos Rafael González and Ricardo Fernández Acosto, respectively.
The celebration included musical performances by Almas Gemelas, Estrellas and Hueco. Now, we have to wait until May, where Yedai Mendoza will represent the province of Las Palmas in the national competition.
