Police officers Esteban García Reyes and Yonathan Umpiérrez Martín were acclaimed by the City Council and their fellow police officers

Tribute to the Yaiza Police officers.

Yaiza celebrated this Friday the Day of Santa Catalina, the great day of the patron saint of the Local Police, which is actually commemorated this Saturday, November 25. The City Council held an emotional event at the House of Culture, where it paid tribute to officer Esteban García Reyes, who is on sick leave, for his career and performance in the street and his administrative functions. In addition to police officer Yonathan Umpiérrez Martín, who was crowned as the third classified in the XXV Spanish Mountain Bike Championship for Local Police.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, praised the work of agents García and Umpiérrez, as well as that of each of the men and women who carried out decisive police interventions during the last year and the effort of the entire Local Police force, and made a call "to all institutions to join greater efforts to improve resources in favor of citizen security."

Thus, I highlight the moment of the delivery of the medal by the mayor to Esteban García, with all the Police, public representatives and members of different bodies and security and emergency forces of the State applauding standing, and the video projected in the room in tribute to Yonathan Umpiérrez, who in addition to being a "machine" in MTB, trains and competes since childhood in Latin sailing, now with the Playa Blanca barquillos.

Óscar Noda had heartfelt words of gratitude for the Local Police, "it is a moment to thank our men and women who patrol the streets in a municipality like Yaiza that has experienced a large growth in its population, that we know we need more police, and we are working to expand the staff within our competences, but it is also a moment to claim before society the good work of our agents and the good work of the chief officer of the Police who also does a commendable job."

The local police officers distinguished for interventions are: Araceli Rodríguez Rodríguez, Raúl Martín Robayna, Francisco Nieves Martín, Francisco Álamo San Ginés and Ruymán Fajardo Morales.

In a nod to public service, the chief officer of the Local Police, Vladimir Guadalupe Domínguez, said that "these brave men and women go beyond the simple application of rules; they are guardians of peace, builders of trust and facilitators of social harmony. Every day, they face complex challenges with an inflexible determination, reminding us that security is a fundamental right that we all deserve. In their work, they not only see numbers and statistics, but faces, stories and dreams. Empathy and respect are fundamental pillars that guide every step they take."

The institutional act of tribute to the Local Police of Yaiza was preceded by the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by the parish priest Yonathan Almeida in the church of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios.
