www.lavozdelanzarote.com, Lanzarote leader in digital information

25.4% of the population of the province of Las Palmas consults the digital edition of La Voz de Lanzarote. This is shown by the survey 'Society and politics in the eastern islands' conducted by Technicians in Socioanalysis between October 25 and November 10 of last year. Thus, it is only surpassed by Canarias 7, consulted by 36.1% of the population.

The table also shows national digital newspapers, sports newspapers and even foreign newspapers. In this way, the order from most to least consulted is Canarias 7 (36.1%), El Mundo (28.4%), La Voz de Lanzarote (25.4%), La Provincia (20%), El País (19.8%), the sports press (8.4%), the foreign press (8.4%) and Canarias Ahora.com (5.6%).

Other parameters

The study also analyzes other variables about the readers of digital newspapers in the eastern islands. In this sense, within the gender perspective it is discovered that lavozdelanzarote.com is read by more women than men, since of the total number of people who consult the newspaper in the province, 3.5% are women compared to 2.5% of men.

However, it is not the only newspaper consulted by more female readers than male readers, since Canarias 7, El Mundo, El País and the foreign press are in a similar situation. However, there is press that is more consulted by men such as La Provincia, Canarias Ahora.com and sports newspapers.

One of the parameters that has the most influence on the consultation of press on the network is age. This is because internet is a tool that is somewhat new, which means that consultations of digital newspapers occur more among young people than older people.

On the other hand, it must be taken into account that this type of information is usually more interesting in more advanced age groups. For this reason, although the survey 'Society and politics in the eastern islands' assesses from 18 to 65 and older, the majority of readers are concentrated between 25 and 54 years old, that is, young people although belonging to the internet generation as well as older people who have not been left behind with respect to new technologies.

The digital Voice has among its main readers the segment between 25 and 34 years old with 3.9%. Behind them are those between 45 and 54 years old with 3.2% followed immediately with 3.1% by those between 18 and 24 years old. Finally, with 1.3% are the sections between 35 and 44 years as well as 55 and 64 years.

These data reflect that lavozdelanzarote.com is a newspaper followed practically equally among all its readers regardless of their age. Regarding this parameter, it is also curious how Canarias 7 has a progressive decrease as age increases, going from 55.3% of readers between 18 and 24 years to 46.6% among those who are 55 and 64 years old. However, in La Provincia it stands out that more than half of its readers (58.3%) are 65 or older.
