Uga celebrated its big day of festivities honoring San Isidro Labrador, a figure venerated by workers in the primary sector and by a town with a deep-rooted agricultural and livestock tradition.
Faithful and companions gathered this Tuesday in the southern town to attend the religious service, which was presided over by the invited priest, Agustín Lasso, and sung by the voices of the Yaiza Vocal Group. Afterwards, the procession took place through the streets of the town, accompanied by the music of the Yaiza Municipal Band.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, led the institutional representation in the commemoration. Uga paid tribute to its Patron Saint without forgetting ordinary neighbors who perform and have exemplary behavior towards others. In this sense, the priest launched a message of encouragement and eternal gratitude to those anonymous characters who work decisively seeking the benefit of society in different areas.
