Two more boats rescued near the coast of Lanzarote

The third inflatable boat was already transferred to the dock of Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura, with 48 people

Two new precarious boats have been rescued between Sunday night and early Monday morning in Lanzarote. In addition, the third inflatable boat was intercepted east of Arrecife by the Guardamar Polimnia and transferred to the dock of Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura. 

According to the Consortium of Security and Emergencies, 54 migrants were rescued in the first boat, including several minors. Maritime Rescue transferred the occupants of the barge to Puerto Naos where they were assisted by the Red Cross at around 11:00 p.m.

In addition, during the early hours of this Monday, another boat has been rescued in which 52 migrants of Maghreb origin were traveling, including six women. Maritime Rescue has transferred the rescued to Puerto Naos at 08:00 hours this Monday. With these, there are seven boats rescued in Lanzarote, around 351 people, in less than 24 hours.

The last precarious boat, which was intercepted at 05:50 hours this Monday east of Arrecife, was transferred to the dock of Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura. The Guardamar Polimnia rescued 35 men, nine women and four minors on this last trip.
