Tibetan Buddhist monks offer a concert in Lanzarote

The residents of San Bartolomé will be able to attend this Saturday, October 13, a concert of Sacred Songs of Tibet offered by a group of Buddhist monks from the Sera Mey Monastery. A recital in which the melodies, mantras and sacred songs, will bring, according to the organizers, "peace and mental clarity when listening to them."

The San Bartolomé Theater will be the place where the performance will take place, so the capacity is 400 tickets that are already on sale for 10 euros. The points of sale are the El Puente Bookstore in Arrecife, the Said "El Pelao" cafeteria, in La Plazuela, the Jalea Real and Saro herbalist and Encarna in the Insular Hospital.

The Buddhist University of Sera Mey

In Tibet, there are three large monastic universities, Gaden, Drepüng and Sera, where studies of Buddhist philosophy last more than 25 years. Sera Mey is a large Tibetan Monastic University now located in South India. The University is made up of individual houses (Khangtsen), each of which must support its own monastic students through external donations.

The monks who will visit Lanzarote belong to the Tsangpa Khangtsen house, which needs donations to build more facilities (medical centers and schools) to help refugees from Tibet.
