The popular music group El Pavón celebrated its "XXI Popular Music Encounter" this Saturday at the Ulpiano Rodríguez Pérez arena in Tías. Precisely this year, the popular music group is celebrating its silver anniversary. Around 9:00 p.m., the public gradually began to occupy the seats to enjoy a night where good Canarian and Latin American music was present during the development of the meeting. For this celebration, the stage was decorated with six of the ten modules belonging to the itinerant exhibition "Hilar Fino", belonging to the Culture Department of the Cabildo of Lanzarote with the collaboration of the folklore groups Malpaís de La Corona and Coros y Danzas Arrecife.
The first part of the meeting was enlivened by the Tigaray group, a group from Los Realejos de Tenerfe, who began with the song entitled LLamarme Guanche. Later they continued with a varied repertoire where songs of Canarian root were intermingled with others of Latin American dyes. They finished their performance with the popular theme Islas Canarias.
After Tigaray, the organizers took the stage. El Pavón began its performance with airs of seguidillas, which would take them on an imaginary journey through music through some Andean countries. In this edition, Jesús Israel Feo Martín, a member who died in a traffic accident in March of this year, was very present. The colleague Pedro Rodríguez on behalf of El Pavón dedicated some emotional words to him that were answered with the loudest applause of the night. After this moment, the unpublished song for him "Hasta Ahora" followed.
At the end of the night, the stage was filled with the 65 members of the two formations, Tigaray and El Pavón, who performed the parrandera song Somos Costeros, thus putting the final point to this XXI Edition.
