Three great chefs from the Lanzarote Cocina collective, chaired by chef Luis León, have joined Rotary Club Lanzarote and put all their "culinary wisdom" into organizing a charity dinner to raise funds for the Lanzarote associations Afol, AFa and Adislan. These NGOs work with cancer, alzheimer and people with intellectual disabilities, respectively.
This new solidarity initiative promoted by Rotary Lanzarote, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the foundation on the island, was presented this Thursday at the facilities of the Farmer's Monument. The president of the Rotary Club, María José Docal Serrano, the president of Lanzarote Cocina, the Chefs Luis León, the president of Afa, Manuel Ruiz, the president of Afol, Carmensa Arrocha, and the vice president of Adilsan, Yolanda Hernández Álvarez, participated. The Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, an institution that collaborates through the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, was also present and spoke to thank Rotary for this new initiative aimed at raising funds for the assistance programs of these NGOs.
Along with Luis León, the prominent chefs Orlando Ortega, from Lilium, and Cristóbal Sánchez, from the La Cascada Puerto Restaurant, will participate as chefs in the organization and preparation of this dinner. Together, and under the supervision and coordination of Luis León, the groups of these great chefs from Lanzarote Cocina have created a special menu that the more than 350 attendees at the dinner will be able to taste and enjoy.
La Parranda El Golpito will liven up the dinner, which has joined this charity dinner altruistically.
Rotary Club Lanzarote launched an important solidarity initiative last Christmas to raise funds for AFOL, AFa and Adislan, with the donation of an Opel Corsa by the Orvecame Cabrera Medina business group. The raffle of this car, before a notary, will take place this Friday, April 21, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. during a special dinner whose dishes have been specially and altruistically prepared by several prominent chefs from Lanzarote. The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote collaborate in this solidarity action of Rotary Club Lanzarote.
The president of Rotary Club Lanzarote, María José Docal Serrano, and the president of Lanzarote Cocina, Chef Luis León, announced this Thursday, April 20, at a press conference, the details of this charity dinner with the collaboration of several companies that have provided or collaborated with the products.
